The Iran Contract Carries Real Odds; the 1¢ Markets Carry Something Else

The largest volume figure on our board today belongs to "Will the U.S. invade Iran before 2027?" on Polymarket, with $74,283,176 traded and a price of 16¢. That is a real probability, and with 77 days until it closes, every headline out of the region gets priced in quickly.

Directly behind it sit four longshots, each trading at 1¢. "Will Jesus Christ return before 2027?" has drawn $66,527,560. The 2028 contracts on LeBron James winning the presidency, and on Oprah Winfrey or Bernie Sanders taking the Democratic nomination, each hold between roughly $52.9 million and $54.9 million. None of these is a contender; the market says so plainly.

So why the volume? A plausible reading is that much of it comes from traders selling the long side and treating the near-certain "No" as a parking spot for capital, especially on contracts with 754 days left. That is a yield trade.

Volume measures activity, and the price is the forecast. Crypto and economy account for 80 markets each in our tracker, yet the dollars pile up around politics and novelty. When you read a big number, check the price next to it.

Tomorrow, watch whether the Iran contract holds at 16¢ or moves as the 77-day clock shortens.
