The single largest pool of money on our tracker right now sits on "Will the U.S. invade Iran before 2027?" on Polymarket. It has drawn $74,014,937 in volume, yet the price is 17¢. Traders are putting serious capital behind a question while assigning it roughly a one in six chance, with 79 days left before it closes.
That gap between attention and probability is the story. The other four markets in the volume top five are all longshots: Jesus Christ returning before 2027 at 1¢, LeBron James winning the 2028 presidency at 1¢, Oprah Winfrey taking the 2028 Democratic nomination at 1¢, and Bernie Sanders at 2¢. Each has drawn more than $52 million. High volume on these contracts reflects novelty and cheap lottery tickets.
The Iran contract is different. At 17¢ it implies a real, if minority, risk, and with 79 days remaining, the market will have to resolve that uncertainty quickly. Any credible escalation signal should move it more than it would move a contract with 756 days to run.
