Iran Invasion Market Shows What Real Uncertainty Looks Like

The highest-volume market we track today is "Will the U.S. invade Iran before 2027?" on Polymarket, with $72.9 million traded at 16¢. Traders put the odds at roughly one in six. With under three months left in the year, though, it is a meaningful number, and among the five highest-volume markets it is the only one priced above a few cents.

The other four are longshots. Jesus Christ returning before 2027, LeBron James winning the 2028 presidency, and Oprah Winfrey winning the 2028 Democratic nomination all sit at 1¢. Bernie Sanders' nomination trades at 2¢. Together they account for more than $228 million in volume, yet the market treats each as close to impossible. Volume measures attention and liquidity, and a crowded 1¢ market is still a 1¢ market.

That gap matters for anyone reading these boards as signal. Of the 298 markets we track, split almost evenly between Kalshi and Polymarket, crypto and economy contracts make up 160. None of them crack the volume leaders, which are all Polymarket listings driven by geopolitics and novelty.

Watch whether the Iran contract holds near 16¢ tomorrow; a move either way would be one of the few volume-heavy prices worth reading as news.
